Romney Tax Rate 14.1 Pct in 2011

Mitt Romney paid a tax rate of 14.1 percent on income of $13.7 million in 2011, according to a blog posting by Brad Malt, the trustee of Romney's blind trust.

• The total tax paid by the Republican nominee in 2011 was $1.9 million.
• Romney's effective federal tax rate from 1990 to 2009 averaged 20.2 percent; he never paid less than 13.66 percent.
• In 2011, Romney gave $4 million to charity and took a $2.25 million deduction for the contributions.
• Most of his 2011 income was investment income.
