Three people, including two U.S. citizens, were kidnapped in Egypt on Sunday, and the U.S. Embassy is working with the Egyptian government to secure the return of the abducted tourists, the Associated Press and CBS report.

The kidnapping of a 61-year-old Boston pastor, a 39-year-old Boston woman and their tour guide occurred in the center of the peninsula called Sabr el-Hitan. An Egyptian Bedouin, Jirmy Abu-Masuh, is the captor, according to the Associated Press, and he's refusing to release the hostages unless police release his uncle from prison.

The kidnapper has threatened to take more hostages if his uncle is not released.
