Bill Clinton Has 'No Earthly Idea' Whether Hillary Will Run
By Adam Mazmanian | Sunday, September 23, 2012 | 11:09 a.m.Former President Bill Clinton said he had “no earthly idea” whether his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will seek the presidency in 2016.
After 20 years in the limelight as First Lady, U.S. Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is “tired,” the former president said on CBS’s Face the Nation.
Asked if Hillary Clinton was the most qualified person in the Democratic field, Bill Clinton said, “I've never met anybody I thought was any better than her at this.” He evaluated the 2016 field saying, “there are a lot of bright young governors, we've got a lot of other people who will probably run out of the Congress. We won’t have to worry about people wanting to be president next time who are good people.”
If Hillary Clinton does run, Bill Clinton said, “Whatever she wanted me to do, I would. But you know, who knows? It’s her decision, her life. But whatever she decides, I’ll support it.”
